Christmas Party at the Parkinson’s Cafe in Hullbridge

Parkinsons Cafe Hullbridge - Christmas PartyTuesday 18th December 2018 marked the final Parkinson’s Cafe of the year and our Christmas Party.

This was followed by a sing song of carols by the Hullbridge Free Church which went down very well by all.

Parkinsons in Malta

During our recent visit to Malta…

Malta Parkinson’s Disease Association

The MPDA team looking wonderful this morning (missing our fantastic president Veronica Clark, who’s working her magic for us from the UK)! We were lucky to have the most amazing Anne Martin with us again today. She specializes in movement disorders and, as always, gave the most informative and interesting lecture. Thank you Anne! (Parkinson’s UK).

We also had the pleasure of meeting the inspirational Colin Rickards, who opened up 2 Cafes in the UK for people with PD (check it out at https://parkinsonscafe.co.uk/). Keep up your good job Colin!

We were delighted to see our lovely members again and to get to know some new ones. It would take more than rain to stop the MPDA family.

Event – 5th June 2018

Parkinson's Cafe Hullbridge - Mother's Ruin - Irene White
Mother’s ruin – Irene White

Our cafe today (1st May 2018) really went well with three new people and their Carers joining us. Our guest speaker, Irene spoke about herself and how she overcame the shakes to paint beautiful Pictures.

Alison won a box of chocolates in the raffle, which was well received.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back for our next cafe gathering on the 5th June 2018 when Fay, a dance instructor, will be here to talk about how dance can help Parkinson’s sufferers.
